Withlacoochee Regional Water Supply Authority WRWSA - Ensuring water supplies for the future of the region
WRWSA Board Representation / Voting Formula

The counties of Citrus, Hernando, Levy, Marion, and Sumter formed the Withlacoochee Regional Water Supply Authority in 1977.  An amendment to the Authority’s interlocal agreement in 1984 provided for municipal membership. In 1982 Levy County formally withdrew from the Authority. In 1991 Marion County became an inactive member but became active again in 2008.  However, the City of Ocala has maintained its active membership by separately paying its annual assessment.

The Withlacoochee Regional Water Supply Authority Board is composed of representatives of the member counties and cities including: Citrus, Hernando, Marion, and Sumter Counties, and the City of Ocala. The other major municipalities within this geographic area that participate in the WRWSA include Belleview, Brooksville, Bushnell, Center Hill, Coleman, Crystal River, Dunnellon, Inverness, McIntosh, Reddick, Webster, and Wildwood.

Member Governments have the following member classifications:
